Located near Cradock in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, Mountain Zebra National Park is a conservation success story and a peaceful alternative to the country’s larger, busier reserves. Established in 1937 to protect the endangered Cape mountain zebra.
The park was created to save the Cape mountain zebra, which once faced extinction. Today, their population has successfully recovered.
Other animals you may spot:
Cheetah
Lion
Buffalo
Black wildebeest
Eland
Springbok
Red hartebeest
It’s not a Big Five park (no elephant or rhino), but it offers excellent predator sightings in a less crowded environment.
